Korail (www.letskorail.com) is Korea Railroad Corporation's train booking platform for KTX, KTX-Eum, ITX-Saemaeul, and Mugunghwa trains. Holiday train ticket booking for Chuseok and Lunar New Year sells out popular routes within minutes.

Korail booking opens at 7 AM, one month before departure. Holiday trains have separate announcements, usually around D-30. Payment is fastest with simple pay (Kakao Pay, Naver Pay) on the Korail app.

  • Popular routes (Seoul↔Busan, Seoul↔Gwangju) sell out direct KTX first. Also search for transfer trains (e.g., Osong transfer) or KTX-Eum.
  • Open both Korail app and PC web simultaneously. If app booking fails, you may catch remaining seats on web.
  • If initial booking fails, watch for cancellation tickets. Many cancel within 24 hours of opening, and bulk cancellations appear 2-3 days before departure.
